Introduction

Happy October! We hope that the spooky season has been treating you well, it's our mascot Boo's favorite time of the year.

Ghost jokes aside... welcome to an October 2026 studio update for Fantasma Collective. Today we've got some updates for our comic Drifter's Legacy, previous and upcoming video games titles, and some smaller studio updates.

To kick off, let's jump into Drifter's Legacy.

Drifter's Legacy

Drifter's Legacy has been a passion project of our team over the last two years; Fantasma Collective's first step into a true narrative-focused project.

In the same days that we attended NYCC 2025, we fully funded a Kickstarter campaign for issues #0 & #1 of Drifter's Legacy. We went crazy, and it was wild to think that we had a found a group of people who trusted us to deliver a strong story. A few months later, we successfully delivered both books to all of our backers. We got to hear the thoughts of many readers over the months that followed, and we were feeling very confident in the work we produced.

On the final page of Drifter's Legacy #1, we stated that issue #2 would drop in October 2026. As we moved forward through production, and the studio's client portfolio changed, the financial pull of the comic's production was becoming more-and-more visible; a perfect storm of unfortunate events.

In early September, studio owners unanimously decided to pay out the team for any completed work and to pause production on Drifter's Legacy.

What does this mean for the future of Drifter's Legacy? We still plan to finish the series, with a portion of the revenue generated from our video games and design clients allotted towards restarting production on Drifter's Legacy. We will also continue to stock issues #0 & #1 of Drifter's Legacy on our online shop, with those profits going straight to restarting production.

We hope that you have enjoyed the story so far, and we genuinely hope that we have an update about restarting production in the near-future. Whatever happens, thank you so much for all the love and support.

LOOPEDAL

Onto some lighter news, our games branch has some exciting updates to share!

Our casual music puzzle game LOOPEDAL will be releasing on Steam in the future! Starting today, you can download the latest LOOPEDAL demo straight from our store page on Steam, or play in your browser through itch.io. While the demo is based off the game jam version we released, we have implemented some updates for you to better enjoy the experience. If you'd like to check out any specific changes, you can read the patch notes here.

Right now we don't have a specific release date in mind, but please look forward to future updates with more information about LOOPEDAL.

QUICKDRAW

Over the years, we've made many promises in regards to QUICKDRAW. To be fully candid, we saw morale surrounding QUICKDRAW's development dropping over time. Instead of forcing the team to push out updates for a title that no one was fully motivated for, we decided that we'd take a more casual approach to QUICKDRAW's final updates. We'll be moving ahead on development without committing to any deadlines. We also shot the final live-action trailer back in 2024, and we're very excited to share it when the final update is ready. Please look forward to future updates with more information about QUICKDRAW.

If you'd like to play QUICKDRAW, the full game is available for purchase through our store page on Steam.

Future Projects

This year, we've made great strides improving our development processes across the studio as a whole. Along with exploring new workflows for game development, we're confident that our upcoming projects will have you on the edge of your seat.

We can promise something pretty... pretty... pretty cool...
